Annapolis

Annapolis is a town with ships and boats very much at it's heart. Almost completely surrounded by water it is also home to the US Naval Academy. The class of 2011 have already graduated and the new intake were just starting a six week boot camp so no men in uniform to see! We took the trolley tour round downtown historic Annapolis. Lots of American Georgian architecture and brightly coloured houses. Apparantly the historical society regulates everything you can see from the street including mail boxes and house signage but due to a strange quirk of local regulation have no control over the colour of the house. So locals take advantage of this fact to exact revenge on over zealous regulation for everything else.
