Pennsylvania Dutch Country

A few hours driving through a couple of mountains and over the river we arrived in Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Once again without a detailed map we managed to find our way onto the scenic drive through the rolling landscape and Amish farms. Pure fluke I am sure, though Mark would disagree!

The way of life here is slow and gentle and there is nothing like having to slow down for an Amish horse drawn buggy to slow the pace of travel. The countryside is beautiful and the crops seem greener and more lush than at the farm. William Penn knew what he was doing when he accepted this land from the King as an area to settle and be free from religious persecution.
