Havre de Grace

We arrived in Havre de Grace and as the British burnt down the town under George III we quickly made friends with the lady in the tourist information to find out what we could do to make amends! She suggested a walk along the boardwalk to the lighthouse and lunch at a bayside cafe for good measure. It was hot and humid and knowing we had a two hour drive back to Washington in the holiday traffic we left by three to try to avoid the worst traffic jams. Pelting rain soon hit and the highway ground to a stand still and flooding on the road also slowed us down. Mind you it broke the humidity and the next day by the pool was glorious.
